Cracked Screen, Water Damage, or Battery? When iPhone Repair Is Worth It in Dubai (2026)
An iPhone repair is worth it when the cost stays clearly below your phone's current resale value — and when the fault is one isolated thing, not three things stacked. Below is the honest 2026 framework we use in our Al Barsha workshop, with real AED ranges so you can decide before driving in. If the math says "replace," we will tell you that too.
1. The one rule that decides everything
If repair cost is under 55% of your phone's current used resale value, fix it. If it is above 55%, replace it. If you are unsure of the resale value, our used iPhone price guide gives the AED ranges per model.
2. Cracked screen — repair cost ranges (AED, original-grade OLED, May 2026)
- iPhone 11 / 11 Pro: 350 - 600
- iPhone 12 / 12 Pro: 450 - 750
- iPhone 13 / 13 Pro: 550 - 900
- iPhone 14 / 14 Pro: 600 - 1,000
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 750 - 1,100
- iPhone 15 Pro / 15 Pro Max: 850 - 1,300
- iPhone 16 Pro / 16 Pro Max: 1,000 - 1,500
Third-party screens cost roughly half but reduce future trade-in value by a similar amount, so the saving is usually false. Same-day turnaround for most models. Start with our repair service page.
3. Battery replacement — repair cost ranges (AED, OEM-quality cell)
- iPhone 11 / 12 / 13 series: 180 - 280
- iPhone 14 series: 220 - 320
- iPhone 15 / 16 series: 280 - 420
Almost always worth it if everything else works and the phone is 14-series or newer. If battery health is below 80% and the phone is also slow under daily tasks, replacing the battery often resolves both problems.
4. Water damage — the diagnosis matters more than the model
Step one is a free diagnostic, not a quote. We check whether the logic board passed a clean test or shows corrosion.
- Logic board clean, only screen/speaker affected: repair is worth it (400 - 1,400 AED depending on model).
- Mild logic board oxidation, no power IC damage: usually repair, with honest disclosure that long-term reliability is reduced (700 - 1,800 AED).
- Heavy logic board damage or power IC failure: we recommend replacement — repair would cost more than a certified used device of the same model.
5. Other common repairs (AED ranges, 2026)
- Back glass: 350 - 1,100 depending on model and color.
- Charging port / Tristar: 200 - 450.
- Face ID (when repairable): 600 - 1,400 on Pro models — and Face ID damage permanently reduces trade-in value, so factor that in.
- Camera module: 400 - 1,200 depending on whether it is the wide, ultra-wide, or tele.
6. When replacement beats repair
- Total quoted repair cost above 55% of current used market value.
- Three or more issues stacking on the same phone within the same year.
- iPhone 11 or older with logic board damage.
- Battery already below 75% AND another major fault appears.
- You were already planning to upgrade within 6 months.
In those cases, a certified used iPhone with warranty often costs the same or less than the repair quote — and resets battery and condition.
Send a photo of the damage on WhatsApp with your model and we will reply with an AED range before you visit Al Barsha. If replacement is smarter, we will say so.
